In 1949 November, the International Democratic women's Federation Council meeting held in Moscow, China and representatives angry expose the imperialist reactionaries and killing, poisoned children's crimes. 

In order to protect the world's children's right to survival, health and ecation, to improve the lives of children, the meeting decided in June 1st of each year as the international children's day.

中国的六一儿童节

从1949年开始，中华人民共和国把每年6月1日确立为国际儿童节。学校一般会为此组织相关的集体活动。

1949年12月23日**政务院规定"六一国际儿童节"为中国儿童的节日，并宣布废除**1931起实行的4月4日为儿童节的规定。

中国第一个儿童节是1932年的4月4日。1931年，"上海中华慈幼协会"发起建议，希望*规定每年4月4日为儿童节。

随后，教育部制定了儿童节纪念办法，并于隔年的4月4日实施。目前，香港特别行政区在约定俗成下，儿童节的日期保留为4月4日。民间庆祝的方式多以送玩具礼物给小朋友，或陪小孩出外吃大餐或游玩。台湾地区仍以4月4日为每年的儿童节。

Children's day, also known as "61 international children's day", held every year on June 1, is the world's children's festival.

In November 1949, the international democratic women's federation held a council meeting in Moscow.

In order to protect the world's children's rights to survival, health and ecation, in order to improve the lives of children, the meeting decided to the annual June 1 for the international children's day.

1949年11月，国际民主妇女联合会在莫斯科举行理事会议，中国和各国代表愤怒地揭露了帝国主义分子和各国反动派残杀、毒害儿童的罪行。为了保障世界各国儿童的生存权、保健权和受教育权，为了改善儿童的生活，会议决定以每年的6月1日为国际儿童节。

在此以前，世界上的许多国家就有儿童节。1925年，国际儿童幸福促进会倡议建立儿童纪念日，英国、美国、日本等国积极响应，先后建立了自己国家的儿童节，英国规定每年的7月14日为儿童节，美国规定5月1日为儿童节。

日本的儿童节很特殊，分男女儿童节，男儿童节5月5日、女儿童节3月3日。我国在1931年也曾经规定4月4日为中国儿童节。

自从1949年确立6月1日为国际儿童节以后，世界各国纷纷废除原来的儿童节，而统一为"六一国际儿童节"。我国**1949年12月宣布：以"六一国际儿童节"代替原来的"四四儿童节"，并规定少年儿童放假一天。

Regarding the International Children's Day, it is widely celebrated on June 1. Children's Day had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children in Geneva in 1925. The June 1 date has a Chinese-USA origin - and nothing to do with Communism. In 1925, the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. This, of course, coincided with the conference mentioned above. June 1 somehow died out in the USA, only to be revived a couple of years ago. However, each country choses its own day to commemorate it.
