1、圣诞节的来历：

圣诞节又称耶诞节，源自古罗马人迎接新年的农神节，与基督教本无关系。在基督教盛行罗马帝国后，教廷随波逐流地将这种民俗节日纳入基督教体系，同时以庆祝耶稣的降生。

据说耶稣是因着圣灵成孕，由圣母玛利亚所生的，神更派遣使者加伯列在梦中晓谕约瑟，叫他不要因为马利亚未婚怀孕而不要她，反而要与她成亲，把那孩子起名为“耶稣”，意思是要他把百姓从罪恶中救出来。

耶稣的生日在历史上并没有记载，直到公元354年罗马天主教会才规定12月25日为"圣诞节"。

2、圣诞节的传说：

圣诞老人是基督教童话故事中的人物，传说他是一位主教的化身，是个身穿大红袍，长着白胡子白眉毛的慈祥老头。

每年圣诞节，他都要从遥远的北方坐着雪橇驰来，由烟囱进入各家，分送礼物，所以孩子们在圣诞之夜都把鞋袜放在壁炉旁。

当孩子们困倦地上床睡觉时，还忘不了把自己的鞋袜口朝上放大壁炉旁，希望圣诞老人带来的礼物能装满自己的鞋袜。

Chrismas Father was the descendant of a deity called Odin. It's also said that Chrismas Father comes from San Nichola, so he is also called St.Nicholas. He was the bishop of Asia Minor city of Rafah and he was called a man of God after his death. 

He is an old man in red clothes and he wears a red hat.He has white mustache. He comes from the north on a blowmobile every Chrismas Day. He went into people's houses by the track and he put the presents into children's socks.

 So in western countries,parents put the gifts to their kids in kids' socks and put them on the head of the bed on Chrismas Eve. On the second day, the first thing after kids wake up is to find the presents from Chrismas Fathers.

Every year on December 25, the birth of Jesus Christ， is celebrated and called Christmas."Christmas" comes from the phrase "Christ Mass". A mass is a form of worship. Christmas is a religious festival. 

We take it as the birthday of Jesus, and to celebrate Christmas. This day, all over the world in Christian churches many hold special worship services. But there are many Christmas activities that have no religious relevance.

每年圣诞节他驾着鹿拉的雪橇从北方而来，由烟囱进入各家，把圣诞礼物装在袜子里挂在孩子们的床头上或火炉前。所以，西方人过圣诞节时,父母把给孩子的圣诞礼物装在袜子里，圣诞夜时挂在孩子们的床头上。第二天，孩子们醒来后的第一件事就是在床头上寻找圣诞老人送来的礼物。

每年的12月25日，是*教徒纪念耶稣诞生的日子，称为圣诞节。“圣诞节”这个名称是“*弥撒”的缩字。弥撒是教会的一种礼拜仪式。耶诞节是一个宗教节。

我们把它当作耶苏的诞辰来庆祝，因而又名耶诞节。这一天，全世界所有的*教会都举行特别的礼拜仪式。但是有很多圣诞节的欢庆活动和宗教并无半点关联。
